Hello everyone.

Welcome to Woodchurch Methodist church’s website. Just follow the menu to find the information you want. There are lots of helpful and fun activities at the church and you are welcome to come and join in.

I’ve been minister of this church for a number of years now and I’m really enjoying working amongst the people of Woodchurch.

I was born in Eccles, Manchester and trained as a teacher. I taught in a number of primary schools in Leeds before responding to God’s call to become a Methodist minister.

I was a minister in the Delamere Forest Methodist Circuit before I came to the Wirral. I was based in Tarvin for some years where I met my husband Paul. We live in Heswall. I am also the minister of Thingwall and Heswall Methodist churches.

People living on the Woodchurch estate can face problems in their everyday lives and it is our hope that the church can support them in their good times and in their difficult times. We try to do this because we believe that our Lord, Jesus Christ called us to love and help our neighbours whether they are friends or strangers. Jesus asks us to show his love to others by making them welcome.

We try and do this in a number of ways. The church holds a knit and natter group, a family and friends youth club, healthy eating courses, a job club, an armchair exercise group, a children’s dance school and many others activities. Last year the church community filled over six hundred and fifty shoeboxes with gifts for Operation Christmas Child. We have weekly church services and Communion services and there is a quiet place to pray. Jesus is at the heart of our community.

The church houses the Pemberton centre and it opens its doors to a number of action groups like the Woodchurch ICT project that aims to help people with their computer literacy. The centre is organized and run by David Smith who does a wonderful job. Watch out for new things starting at the church.

God bless,

Ann Rigby-Jones
